Faculty Experience Working Group (AY'24/25, co-chair): As co-chair, I led efforts to assess faculty satisfaction through a comprehensive survey. Based on the data, we developed actionable recommendations focusing on protecting non-teaching time, increasing transparency in responsibilities, and revising faculty schedules, which were presented to the administration and faculty/staff for consideration.
Faculty Evaluation Working Groups (S'21 & S'24): Designed a comprehensive annual faculty evaluation process (S'21) to reflect expectations while maintaining alignment with BU's policies. Revisited the process (S'24) to integrate mentorship support for new faculty and teaching fellows, ensuring effective onboarding and consistent evaluation.
COVID-19 Task Force (F'20–S'23): Collaborated with administration and medical professional parents to develop and implement health and safety protocols, ensuring a secure learning environment. Personally oversaw adherence to testing cadences in alignment with University policies.
Remote Teaching Coordinator (S'20–S'21): Represented the Academy on a University-wide task force to develop remote and hybrid teaching strategies. Oversaw technological transitions, resolved logistical hurdles, and provided ongoing faculty support to ensure instructional continuity.
Re-Entry Task Force (Summer '20): Led planning efforts to transition back to in-person and hybrid learning, balancing health guidelines with academic needs. Rebuilt the weekly teaching schedule to reduce population density, ensure physical distancing, and maximize in-person learning opportunities.
Learn from Anywhere Faculty Coach (Summer '20): Guided faculty in adopting hybrid teaching methodologies, enhancing adaptability to ensure continued educational growth for all students, whether learning in-person or remotely. Delivered targeted training sessions focused on engagement and inclusivity in hybrid environments.
Advising Working Groups (S'16 & S'23): Developed advising frameworks to support students' academic and personal growth. Analyzed and addressed disparities between underclassmen and upperclassmen advising models, revising advisor expectations to balance workload effectively.
Teaching & Learning Committee (AY'21/22): Reviewed teaching practices school-wide in response to a new academic schedule and full return to in-person learning. Fostered cross-departmental dialogue on the use of 75-minute blocks, solicited feedback to enact schedule changes, and explored implementing a January mini-term with two-week courses.
Comments & Communications Committee (AY'20/21): Reexamined the timing and style of communications to students and families, balancing the value for recipients with faculty workload. Compiled peer school practices and adapted them to align with our unique partnership with BU.
Student Life & Culture Committee (AY'19/20, co-chair): Led initiatives with Student Council to improve campus culture and engagement, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Restructured the community service requirement to ensure equity, proposed changes to comment timing (later explored by the Comments & Communications Committee), and revisited advising and class meetings (inspiring the renewal of the Advising Working Group in S'23).
Senior Thesis Working Group (AY'18/19): Reassessed and restructured the senior thesis capstone program to better support student success. Optimized due dates to better accommodate seniors' busy fall semester schedules, ensuring a manageable balance with other academic and extracurricular commitments. Increased accessibility by introducing flexible options for students unable to pursue summer research opportunities, broadening participation in the program. Reframed project guidelines to align with the spirit of creative and artistic industries, fostering innovation and inclusivity for non-traditional disciplines.
NEASC 2- and 5-year Interim Report Committees (S'19 & S'22): Contributed to accreditation reporting and compliance efforts, ensuring alignment with NEASC standards. Analyzed progress on commendations and recommendations from the 2017 accreditation, driving institutional improvements in key areas.
NEASC Visiting Committee (F'21): Participated in peer-review processes to assess and validate other institutions' adherence to NEASC accreditation standards, ensuring integrity and alignment across educational practices.
